This is a self-paced class. You are all going to finish assignments at different times. The first thing you do when you finish an assignment is to review it and make sure it is complete. Check the directions - did you do all of them? Then make sure your website and blog are up to date. Once that is done, you may go back and complete any missing assignments or correct low-graded assignments for a better grade. Then check the agenda and start on the next assignment.
By now you should have 4 pages on your website:
Blog posts should be deeply reflective and thoughtful. Don't just say what the hardest thing is - tell: What made it hard? What did you do to better understand it? What can you do differently? Is there a better way to learn the subject?
On Tuesdays and Wednesdays one of your assignments is to check your grades in ATLAS and write them down in your agenda. You are also supposed to check for missing and low-scoring assignments and write them down - and then make sure they get completed. If for some reason ATLAS does not work when you go to check your grades, you need to check it later. You MUST track your grades at least once per week. The only class time I will al for this will be during lab days on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Once you have completed Excel 1-4, you should create a multi-page spreadsheet in Google Docs to track your grades. the first page should be for all you classes and be similar to what you are doing in your agenda. You should also create separate pages for each class and track each assignment grade there. Once this is created, you will also track your grades on a weekly basis in the Google Spreadsheet as well as your agenda.
A number of you have had difficulty following directions on posting your BrainPOP quiz scores. The correct directions are posted at Curriculum > Computer Use > Document Setup. Please follow them carefully. If you continue to have problems, take a quiz when I am available to supervise you when you report the score. That way I can give you credit for the score and you can learn how to do it correctly. Remember: If I don't receive the score, I can't give you the grade.
LATE SCORE REPORTING: If you are completing the quiz late, please send the score to EMAIL.
Two options for BrainPOP score reporting:
You will be applying the skills you have learned in the Microsoft Excel tutorials to the spreadsheet for Mrs. Poole. Once you have completed all four Excel tutorials, download the "Now That's Using Your Head" spreadsheet from Google Docs into Excel. Then use the knowledge and skills you gained to make the spreadsheet come to life with graphs, sparklines, custom headings, etc.
Once this is completed you will begin the process of creating a multi-page spreadsheet for your grades in Google Docs.
When your parents have questions about grades and assignments, please take them to the classroom website. Some of the things to show them are:
